Welcome to our vrijmismato (vrijdag middag smash tournament) website. We’re Steven and Bob, two friends that picked up smash and got really competitive against one another. While we kept watching videos on how to get better and started practising our combos to unleash against each other, we started asking ourselves if there were any fun tournaments that we could attend somewhere in the Utrecht region. To our surprise we noticed there really weren’t that many being organized, or atleast not frequently. We thought surely there would be enough people that want to play in a fun tournament setting knowing from experience there’s enough people we know that play smash occasionally.

So we thought, why not organize a monthly tournament ourselves? That’s how we got the idea for Vrijmismato, and it is growing from idea to reality this 6th of February. We started gathering all the information we needed to host our first ever installation of Vrijmismato, the supplies we needed, the venue, etc. all while trying to make it as accessible as we could. We don’t intend to be making money from this tournament at all, we really just want to see if it’s possible to host these smash tournaments and create a little bit of a community of smash players here in Utrecht.
